We made it to Montréal! A big thank you to Maria for welcoming us. The ring-necked duck is a diving duck. You can differentiate it from the Lesser Scaup, because it has a ring around the tip of it's bill. The ring around it's neck is pretty much only visible when it's dead. Here is a funny comic about how it got named. They can live up to 20 years. They are 38 to 46 cm long, have a wingspan of 62 to 63 cm and they weigh 500 to 900 g. Females are browner than the males.
