Moose Mountain, SK

Yesterday we passed Moose Mountain Provincial Park and today we are learning about it. Moose Mountain isn't really a mountain, it's a really big hill. They thought it kind of looked like a mountain because it is much taller than the prairie around it.

We are looking at ebird.org lists to find out what birds are in the park. Some of the birds, we also see in southwestern BC, like the Barn Swallow, Hairy Woodpecker, Merlin, Common Raven, Black-capped Chickadee, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Surf Scoter, Purple Finch, and Pied-billed Grebe. Some birds that we don't see in southwestern BC, that are in Moose Mountain Park are White-breasted Nuthatch, Black-billed Magpie, and Chipping Sparrow.

We are at 2427 km from Tofino.

This is a Purple Finch with his crest up.
