The swamp sparrow lives in the Nicolet Migratory Bird Sanctuary which we passed this weekend. The swamp sparrow between 12.5 and 15 cm long. Its wingspan is 18 to 19 cm. It weighs 15 to 25 g. It lives for up to 6 years. Swamp sparrows eat small insects during the breeding season. In winter they eat mostly seeds.
Here is a video of a swam sparrow singing.
