Silver Falls Provincial Park is a one hour drive from the city of Thunder Bay. Here is a video of the waterfall. There is a hiking path through the forest and to Silver Falls. For the hike you have to go out and then you have to turn around to come back, it's not a loop. There is a native cemetery in the park.
Today I will tell you about the ovenbird. The reason why I am telling you about the ovenbird because it lives in Silver Falls. The ovenbird got it's name because the nest is a dome which the mother weaves the top of the nest and covers it with twigs and leaves. As the chicks grow they might cause damage, but she just ignores the damage. It looks like an old outdoor oven or a Dutch oven.
We do not have a picture of an ovenbird, so I am going to share a picture of a black-capped chickadee, because you can also find black-capped chickadees in Silver Falls Provincial Park.
We are 3466 km from Tofino!
Very well written Arthur! If you find a picture of the ovenbird please share it with us!
