We have passed Landon Bay-Thousand Island National Park. The most recent bird list for the area was in September, so I cannot give an accurate idea of what is there now. So I will talk about a bird that has been there in the past.
The eastern wood-peewee is 15 cm long, with a wingspan of 23 to 26 cm and weighs 10 to 19 g. It can live up to 7 years. Compared to the western wood-peewee which lives up to 6 years and the yellow-bellied flycatcher which lives up to 4 years. The eastern wood-peewee has only one brood of two to four eggs from May to September. It eats mainly flying insects and occasionally forages on the ground. We don't have our own picture of the eastern wood-peewee so I will share a picture with you of the western wood-peewee.
We are 5109 km from Tofino!
